Are you looking to download a piece of professional computer virus removal program? This type of protection software is commonly searched for on the Internet, but there are many factors that need to be addressed first before choosing a suitable protection software for your PC.

For example, most people focus too much on the effectiveness without considering the amount of system resources that the program will take up. Some can affect the system's performance speed and cause it to drop drastically. Of course, detecting and removing virus and malware should be the top priority that all protection programs should have in the first place.

1. How to Find the Best and Most Effective Professional Computer Virus Removal Program?

There are many different brands and types of anti-virus and anti-spyware software on the Internet. Some of the best protection programs are able to detect and get rid of many various types of malicious files. My own personal malware and virus removal software has worked very effectively to clean up my system registry and hard disks while requiring very little RAM memory to work.

2. Do You Really Need to Download a Professional Computer Virus Removal Program?

I would only recommend computer users to download only software that do not use up too much memory space since that would defeat the purpose of speeding up your PC system. There are some malware removal software that can take ages to load, and I would not recommend anyone to use them. If your computer is regularly connected to the Internet, you will most definitely want to download a computer virus removal program.

In most cases, you should be able to download a trial version of the computer virus removal program that provides a full and comprehensive in the system to detect any malware and corrupted files.

The search engine redirect virus will make it so that when you type in a search phrase and hit enter, and choose to click on a returned search result; instead of being taken to that result you will instead be redirected to a web page that has nothing to do with your subject matter.

The creators of the search engine redirect virus have two goals in mind. One, make a profit by taking you to advertising pages instead of what you were looking for. Two, creating a backdoor on your system to allow for more virus and maleware to be installed and steal private data right from your hard drive.

Instructions

1. Download and install the Remove Restrictions Tool from the Internet (see References).

2. Disable any antivirus software running on the computer.

3. Open the Remove Restrictions Tool from its icon on the desktop. Run the tool to automatically remove restrictions on the system and give you back control and access to Task Manager.

4. Enable and run a a reputable and updated virus program to find and remove any viruses on the system. You can also find free virus scan services that run via the Web so you won't have to install or purchase anything.

The pen drive virus is a type of Trojan horse that infects a computer via a "pen," flash or other removable drive. These Trojans typically create multiple files on the infected hard drive that are stored within legitimate files and folder names. In addition, files will begin to randomly appear and disappear for no apparent reason. The following steps will assist in the detection, removal and prevention of the pen drive virus.

Instructions

Insert your pen drive into one of the available USB outlets on your computer. If a program dialog box displays, select "cancel." Do not double-click on the drive icon to open the drive.

Double-click on the "My Computer" icon on the desktop. Select "Tools," "Folder Options" and "View" from the menu bar. Make sure that the radio button next to "Show hidden files and folders" is selected. Uncheck the box next to "Hide extensions for known files." Uncheck the box for "Hide protected operating system files (Recommended)." If a warning message displays, click "OK." Click "Apply" and "OK" to save all changes.

Verify the drive letter that represents your USB or pen drive. For example, if the drive displays as Kingston (M:), the drive letter would be "M".

Click on "Start," "Run"; type "cmd" and press "Enter" to open the command prompt window.

Type the drive letter, for example, "M" followed by a colon (":"), and press "Enter" at the command prompt to open the root directory of the drive.

Type "dir/w/o/a/p" and press "Enter" to display a list of files and folders present on the flash drive.

My Security Shield is yet another rogue anti-spyware that has been spreading around the web in the past week. Although it might look like a legitimate anti-spyware, My Security Shield is in fact a virus, and you should try to remove it as soon as you notice its presence on your computer.

The My Security Shield virus gets on your computer if you fall a fake “your computer is infected” message shown by fake online virus scanners. Once the My Security Shield virus gets on your computer, it will be programmed to start automatically each time your Windows loads. Once My Security Shield is up and running, it will start scanning your computer for viruses. Please note that the results are fake (in fact, the files it detects as infections were created by the same Trojan that installed the My Security Shield rogue on your computer) and the only thing you need to do is remove the My Security Shield virus using our removal guide below.

How to uninstall / remove My Security Shield (Virus Removal Guide)

How to uninstall / remove My Security Shield (Virus Removal Guide)
How to remove the My Security Shield virus

The My Security Shield virus might block your Internet connection. If that is the case, you will need to download the tools we are going to use for removing My Security Shield on a non-infected computer and then transfer them to the infected computer’s desktop using an USB drive or a CD/DVD.

The files we are going to need are:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware – MBAM will scan your computer for any viruses and remove them

iExplore.exe – A great tool developed by Lawrence Abrams. It will stop the My Security Shield process (close it for good), so we can remove it.

Hosts Permission Fixer – The My Security Shield virus will make changes to your hosts file (that’s why you can’t use the Internet). This file makes sure you have the permission to restore the default HOSTS file for your windows version.

SuperAntiSpyware – This will be our secondary anti-spyware solution, just in case MBAM doesn’t work for you.

You don’t need all the hosts files, just the one for your Windows version:

Windows XP Default HOSTS file

Windows Vista Default HOSTS file

Windows 7 Hosts File – These are the default HOSTS files (the HOSTS file as they were when you first installed your Windows OS).

Remember to place all these files on the infected computer’s desktop.

Step 1. Run iExplore a bunch of times (even simultaneously) until the My Security Shield process is killed (meaning My Security Shield is no longer running). Don’t give up if it doesn’t work at first, it will eventually get the job done, even if it takes some while (just keep double clicking on it ).

Step 2. Now that the My Security Shield virus is gone for the moment, we need to remove it for good. For this, we will use the free edition of Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware. Run the setup and proceed with the default install settings, but remember to tell MBAM to automatically update itself). Once MBAM is up and running, go to the scanner tab, select “Perform full scan” and wait for MBAM to scan your computer for any traces of My Security Shield, as well as any other malware your computer might have.

Step 3. When the scan is done, select all the detected infections, and click the remove button. When this process is complete, you should have removed the My Security Shield virus, as well as the associated files.

Step 4. This is something I recommend in every virus removal guide. But use CCleaner to remove any temporary files (here is a tutorial on how to do that).

Step 5. Although the My Security Shield virus should be gone, this infection messes up your Windows Hosts file (this is why you probably cannot connect to the Internet). First we need to grant you back permission to change the HOSTS file. To do this, just run the Hosts Permission Fixer.

Step 6. Now place the HOSTS file corresponding to your Windows version in C:WindowsSystem32Driversetc. Just delete the existing HOSTS file and then place the default one (it should be on your desktop) in the same folder.

There you go. If everything went the way it was supposed to, you have successfully removed My Security Shield from your computer (as well as any other malware).

Does your computer or internet connection slow down when you work? Are you annoyed by frequent pop-ups or web browser redirections, program failures or unknown errors? If the main functions of your system are still unavailable (for example. Control Panel, Task Manager, Internet Explorer) or your system is giving a "RPC" error, giving a window with a thirty seconds countdown to restart, then your computer is definitely suffering from a serious virus threat.

Below are some easy virus removal steps that you can follow to protect your computer from harmful viruses and malwares and it keep in a healthy and working condition:

1. Scan your computer regularly by running your virus-scanner. But be careful as many modern viruses can hide themselves from anti-virus software. So make sure that you are using a reputed anti-virus like Avira, AntiVir, AVG, Avast etc. As for additional precautions, you can also download malware bytes from a reputed website and update it.

2. Many viruses' bar you from installing any software or do updates, if you are facing the same problem, then, install, update and run the anti-virus software in a "safe mode with networking". If not, then restart your system and get into "safe mode with Networking". To bring your computer in a safe mode, press F8 several times just after the Post screen is displayed. Now a list will appear. Choose the "Safe Mode With Networking".

3. Now run your virus scanners and delete any references you found. After taking all these measures, if your virus scan don't work yet, then it is better to use a GData Boot Disc and booting off that and running a GData Virus Scan.

4. Try a Safe Mode Virus scan as soon as the scan is completed. Remember that no every internet security is 100% safe and secure. You need to run multiple scans. Sometime, the internet security won't find the virus in the first scan.

5. If your GData Boot Scan doesn't work, then remove your HDD/SSD from your system and plug it into another computer or laptop that already has malware-bytes installed. (Don't browse the HDD when you plug it in) Now do a right click and select "Scan" with Malware bytes. In case, this step is ineffective, then definitely there is some problem with your HDD. So, you are advised to perform a HDD diagnosis.

6. Now enjoy working on a virus free computer.

A computer virus contamination on your laptop is a real nuisance. Even for a notebook expert, removing a virus from a notebook can be a time consuming and irritating task.

A number of viruses are designed to reinstall themselves even after they have been found and eradicated. Some viruses inscribe themselves into the registry of your PC, so they are loaded as soon as you boot up your notebook.

Of course you should keep your anti-virus software up to date. But still that is not always successful in preventing an infection - especially if you frequent shareware or sites containing adult content.

To remove a virus infection:

1. If you are using a Windows operating system, visit the Microsoft Update website and install the latest updates. This may detect and eradicate the virus.
2. Microsoft now have a 'Malicious Software Removal Tool'. Type this into Google or Bing and follow the instructions.
3. Go to your anti-virus manufacturers website and download the latest updates. Then perform a scan of your PC.

I have tried this and it has not worked!

Some viruses will in reality disable your anti-virus software. If you cannot access your anti-virus application or you remain seeing the same malware pop up after the scan, you will probably find that the virus has written itself into the registry.

Now this moves into advanced PC virus removal. You need to be careful when rewriting the registry file because it tells Windows which programs to start up when when booting the operating system. Unless you are competent with desktops you are best leaving this to a virus removal professional.

So you are an expert!

OK, run your anti-virus program. If it will not run in Windows, reboot your notebook in Safe Mode and run it from there. It will probably find the virus even if it can not kill it. Note down the file names of all the viruses, malware, worms and any other suspect files it lists.

Now you may require a second notebook for this, of course, but type them file names into Google or Bing one at a time. you will find that somebody out there on the World Wide Web has come across these viruses and you will quickly determine which is the most malicious. This is more than likely to be your problem virus.

Now, you will most probably find that someone has written very exact instructions on how to eradicate this virus. If the source seems to be dependable, then by all means follow the advice.

Alternatively, open up your registry file. Look for the particulars of your malicious virus - probably in the boot file. This is the file you need to remove - But! Before you remove any files, make a backup copy of your Registry folder. Accidentally eradicating the wrong file could make it very hard or even impossible to run your PC properly.

There are many viruses infecting computers around the World. Virus Trojan and Worm are the common virus attacking computers these days. I have described a way to identify viruses in your computer, safely remove it using detection tool, using antivirus software to get virus protection.

Trojan horse which is also known as trojan, which in the computer language describes as a class of computer threats which is also known as malware that looks like to perform a desirable function or functions but in reality performs malicious functions, without giving notice, that allows unauthorized access to the host computer of the person who created this virus, giving them ability to down load a file to monitor users activities, steal data, or even watch the user's screen and control the computer remotely. This gives remote thieves full control of your computer using these types of Trojan or Trojan horse viruses.

This type of virus normally find a back door during let's say when you are playing a computer game. By going through a back door, this virus can take control of the game. Trojan viruses gets down loaded when user is visiting a site, playing game online, shopping online, there are hundreds of way your computer can get inflected. This all happens without a notice or your permission. This Trojan virus term is derived from the story of the Trojan Horse.

There are many different type of Trojan viruses out there, here are the latest finding of some key viruses that your computer may have been infected.

HOW TO REMOVE ABOVE VIRUSES FROM YOUR COMPUTER:

Virus listed above are most probably a Trojan Vundo or in general called Trojan type virus and it resides at following location. %Documents and SettingsUsersApplication Datadriversxxxxx.exe. You probably got this virus loaded in your computer when you visited some site and down loaded a file from internet. Be extra careful in removing these types of virus from your computer. Just deleting the file xxxxx.exe will not help spreading or harming your computer. If you are not sure use the FREE detection tool and remove the virus professionally or use the following procedure. Procedure varies slightly depending upon the virus type but you should have success if your computer knowledge is sufficient to follow steps describe below.

The procedure described here may vary a little depending upon what AV and Operating System you are using for your Computer. If you are not computer savvy then just use the FREE detection tool and it will tell you what viruses are present in your computer.

Virus removal forms an essential aspect of computer maintenance because the presence of virus in the system causes its performance to decline severely. There are several pathways via which the virus can enter the computer like emails, attachments, downloads and even certain programs by being embedded in them.

After having gained entry, the virus, Trojan, spyware and malware could manifest its presence in a number of ways and while some are as simple as subtle and unexpected changes in the behavior of the system, others could be as serious as slowing down the system and causing it to crash.

The presence of virus in the system seldom remains concealed and before long the symptoms of an infection are evident in form of extremely sluggish performance, repeated system crash and rebooting, crashing of the application software and popping up of random messages on the screen. In such a situation, it is the owner's prerogative to detect the presence of virus followed by immediately taking steps to affect its removal before it wreaks irrevocable havoc on the stored data.

Installing strong anti virus software on the computer forms the first line of defense in virus removal as the main objective of such packages is to prevent, detect and remove virus. As the market is inundated with anti virus software packages, the seeker would be spoiled for choice and must be careful to opt for the latest package which will sift out even the most recent spyware and malware.

However, as the experts advise, the presence of an anti virus software is not sufficient itself for virus removal because there are new contagions being released every day with each being more harmful than its predecessors. Hence, with the intention of providing a boost to the installed anti virus program, the user must acquire some of the virus removal tools which would assist with detecting and cleaning individual malware.

Virus removal is a process which occurs over different stages and commences with updating the virus definitions so that even the latest and reincarnated versions would be caught. This is followed by updating the anti virus and then subjecting the system to a thorough scan so as to adjudge the extent of infection caused within the system. After having been identified, the next step entails removing the virus without harming the files or alternatively isolating them in the archives in case the virus cannot be removed.

Having removed the virus, it is now time to conduct repairs and restoring files as and when possible. A precautionary measure in this regard would be to scan and check incoming files prior to opening them.

It is important that any computer that connects to the worldwide web be protected with Internet security software. There are different types of security software that you should install on your PC. You can either use stand alone programs, or go with an all in one security suite.

Antivirus software typically comes to mind when Internet security is the topic of discussion. A computer virus can literally destroy all of your valuable data, and make your PC inoperable. Once you have bought a good antivirus program you should immediately scan your computer. This should be done weekly, and if you use a free version program do it daily. Nearly all antivirus programs automatically update themselves. You should make sure this feature is activated.

Included with the windows operating system is a firewall. Yet, this is not enough to adequately protect your PC from Internet threats. To properly defend your computer you must buy a good solid firewall program from a trusted seller. Failure to heed this advice leaves your computer open to security threats, including identity theft.

Today's worldwide web is plagued with spyware. This means you must install reputable spyware program. Plus, you must have real time protection if you want to have true spyware security. Of course, you can install a no cost spyware program. Be careful because some of these so called free solutions will fill your hard drive with spyware, instead of removing it. When you buy a spyware program be sure you only deal with a trusted merchant. Brand names are best.

Equally important, is to keep your windows operating system current with all the latest updates. Some of these updates repair known security flaws in the windows system, including the Internet browser. It's a good idea to make sure this feature is activated to accept and install windows critical updates.

Naturally, e-mail is important, however spam is not. If your antivirus software does not protect your favorite e-mail client, you need to invest in a good spam filter. Equally important, is to never open attachments from people you do not know. Doing so is a recipe for infecting your computer.

Anyone who engages in peer to peer activity is asking for their computers to become infected. These sites are notorious havens for viruses and spyware. If you wish to engage in peer to peer activities make sure your computer is installed with the best Internet security programs you can afford. Beware though, because even that may not be enough to keep your PC safe. The best way to avoid a PC virus is to stay away from these websites, because even the best Internet security can be hacked.

“We have seen an absolute huge rise in malware worldwide over the past 12 months, probably more than the previous five years combined,” said David DeWalt, McAfee’s chief executive. “We are seeing a lot more malware specifically designed and targeted at large social networking applications. These are just the trends in the industry.”

Nearly 600,000 Facebook users have fallen victim to a new Facebook application scam. Similar to previous attacks that notify the user that one of their friends has found a video with an “Oh, wow, is this you” message, the Photoshop scam is provocative users in the same way. This virus spreads through Facebook chat, instantly sending out similar messages to all of your friends, whether they are logged into chat or not.
The message tells users that a friend has made a Photoshop image of them and includes a link that prompts you to launch an application. The application is basically a phishing scam, prompting the user to grant access to their Facebook account (like most do), but also grants access to Facebook Chat. Once the application has been allowed, you have access to a gallery of people with their heads on animal bodies — none of which are you.
M86, who first reported the scam on their blog, says that it doesn’t seem like the virus is spreading malware, adware or spyware at this time, but the infectious virus is spreading quickly – at a rate of 90,000 clicks per hour.
The best thing to do is to neglect all applications of this kind, but if you have made the mistake of giving the application access to your Facebook data, you need to get rid of it. Notify your friends to let them know that it’s not a legit application so that they can ignore any messages from you. Go to your privacy settings page in Facebook and remove the application to prevent it from continuing to send out multiple messages or something more devious than a man-dog. You should also change the password to your Facebook account, just in case the application is storing the information to be used at a later date. This application may look benign in nature, there are very few of these things that spring up just to get a laugh.

Microsoft has recently issued a security advisory to help ensure customers are aware that an update to the Microsoft Malware Protection Engine also addresses a security vulnerability reported to them.

According to user reports, when performing a virus scan, Microsoft’s Malware Protection Engine fails to process a specially crafted registry value correctly, enabling local attackers with restricted privileges to execute arbitrary code at system privilege level (privilege escalation). This attacker, in turn, could gain the same user rights as the LocalSystem account.

The Microsoft Malware Protection Engine is a part of several Microsoft anti-malware products that includes Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE), Windows Live OneCare, Windows Defender, Forefront Client Security and Forefront Endpoint Protection 2010 products as well as the Malicious Software Removal Tool.

Microsoft advises that if your version of the Microsoft Malware Protection Engine is equal to or greater than version 1.1.6603.0, then you are not affected by this vulnerability and do not need to take any further action. If you want to know how to verify the engine version number that your software is currently using, you can see the section, “Verifying Update Installation”.

Currently, a patch that is being deployed automatically via the virus and signature update mechanism will fix the issue. Typically, no action is required of enterprise administrators or end users to install this update, because the built-in mechanism for the automatic detection and deployment of this update will apply the update within the next 48 hours. However, the exact time frame will of course depend on the software used, Internet connection, and infrastructure configuration.

An updated version of the Malicious Software Removal Tool will become available on 8 March. The tool is only vulnerable when it is first executed by the system after having been downloaded via Windows Update. Attackers can’t exploit the hole by manually starting the tool.

It is very difficult for less-savvy computer users to stay out of trouble on the Internet, and part of the problem is that they just don't know how to identify potential threats. Fortunately, there are plenty of great online resources you can use, or point your friends and family to. We've already covered the excellent Facecrooks, which helps users avoid trouble on Facebook, and today we're taking a look at the Lavasoft Rogue Gallery.

Lavasoft is the company behind Ad-Aware, the granddaddy of adware removal apps. Though its malware cleanup crown has been snatched away by Malwarebytes in recent years, Ad-Aware remains enormously popular -- and Lavasoft provides a nice public service by displaying the fake antivirus (fakeAV) and rogue applications it discovers for all to see.

Rogue applications are those nasty programs which appear to be useful utilities like antivirus or Windows tune-up tools. In reality, of course, they're some of the nastiest threats around. They're easy enough to spot if you know what to look for, so spending a few minutes going through the Lavasoft Rogue Gallery is highly recommend to anyone who needs a bit of help avoiding Internet dangers.
